Custom Faucet Packaging & Private Label Branding: How To Customize OEM Taps Without Delay Shipment

2026-07-14 0 Leave me a message

When you want to do private label faucet project, most of them they focus on product itself — design, material, finish color and price.

But after 12 years I work with many overseas distributors and brands at Kingsdom Faucet, I find one thing happen very often:

Most OEM faucet delays not because factory production slow. They happen because buyer not prepare well before production start.

Missing logo file, packaging design not finish, or change finish color at last minute — these small things can easily add few days or even weeks to your shipment.

For brands import faucets from China, customization is not just add a logo. It include many details:

Logo marking on faucet

Custom packing box

User manual and label

Surface finish consistency

Product presentation

If you plan well, you can make your own private label faucet range and still keep delivery on time.

At Kingsdom Faucet, we help many distributors and brands manage these details before mass production. Below I share some practical suggestions based on our daily work.

Laser Etching or Mold Logo: Which Branding Method You Should Choose?

First thing for most private label buyers is: how to put logo on faucet?

Different methods have different cost, MOQ, flexibility and time.

For most growing brands, I usually suggest laser engraving. For big volume orders, mold logo maybe better.

Laser Etching: Good Choice for Most Private Label Brands

Laser etching is most common way now for OEM bathroom faucets.

In our Wenzhou factory, we do logo after polishing and plating or PVD coating. We use fiber laser machine to make clear mark on faucet surface.

Advantages:

No mold cost

Compare with casting logo, laser marking no need make new mold. So it is good for distributors who want test new market or launch new collection.

High precision

Even small logo, detailed pattern or fine letter can engrave very clear. Good for modern brand with simple logo design.

Easy to adjust before production

If you want change logo position or size, we can do it before mass production. No big problem.

For most basin mixer, we usually put logo on:

Handle top surface

Spout base

Faucet body side

One thing I always tell new customer:

Please send logo file before production.

Vector format is best, like AI, EPS or CDR.

If you send low resolution JPG or PNG, our design team need redraw it. This take time and sometimes cause mis-understanding. In some project, bad logo file alone can delay sample 2-3 days. So please prepare well.

Mold Cast Logo: For Large Volume Order Only

Mold cast logo mean we make logo during faucet casting. It can be raised or recessed. This give very premium look and permanent.

But it is only suitable for established brand with stable order every year.

Before choose this, buyer should know:

Extra tooling cost

You need pay for custom casting mold.

Higher MOQ

Because mold is made for specific design, factory usually require bigger quantity.

Longer lead time

Mold development need about 15–20 days before production can start.

Can not change later

Once mold finish, if you want change logo design, you need make new mold. Very expensive.

So my suggestion: new private label brand should start with laser marking. Mold logo only for long term product.

Custom Faucet Packaging: Protect Your Product Before It Reach Customer

Many buyers think packaging just for look. But from our experience, packaging have another more important job:

Protect your faucet during shipping.

A good matte black or brushed gold faucet can be ruined if surface scratch during ocean transport. Then customer will complain and ask refund. This is trouble for both side.

A standard kitchen mixer weight about 1.5–2.5kg. When thousands of pieces stack in container, weak box can easily collapse and cause damage.

For OEM faucet project, we usually focus on three things for packaging.

Outer Carton Material

For wholesale shipment, we suggest strong corrugated carton, not thin retail box.

Double-wall corrugated like E-flute or EB-flute give better protection against compression during shipping.

Also lamination is important for printed box. Without lamination, printing can be affect by:

Ocean humidity

Long storage time

Warehouse handling

Good carton protect product and also show your brand image.

Inner Protection: EPE Foam or Molded Pulp?

Inner packaging is very important to keep faucet in good condition.

Simple bubble wrap is cheap but not give enough support. Especially for:

Matte black finish

Gunmetal color

Brushed gold

These finish scratch very easy. If product move inside box during shipping, surface will damage.

EPE Foam Insert

This is our prefer solution for many OEM project.

We cut foam according to:

Faucet body shape

Handle position

Hose placement

Accessories

This keep everything fix in place. No movement during transport.

Molded Pulp Insert

If your brand focus on environmental, molded pulp is another option.

It is more eco-friendly but protection is little less than EPE foam. So you need consider your product value and shipping distance.

Real Case from Our Customer

Few years ago, one UK distributor rush their packaging design. They want save cost so they choose single-wall carton. Also they skip our drop test.

Result: when container arrive US, carton at bottom of pallet all collapsed. About 8% of Single Chrome Brass Basin Sink Faucet got scratch on handle. They lost money and also delayed their sell plan.

After that, we insist every new packaging design must pass 1A drop test before we start mass production. This cost little more but save big trouble later.

Finish Color Approval: How to Avoid Delay

Before   I write about one French client who change finish from chrome to brushed gold in middle of production. This happen quite often. But special finish like PVD need careful schedule.

If you plan to add popular color like gunmetal, brushed bronze or matte black, here is two simple rule:

Sign physical color sample first

Photo on screen cannot show real metal texture. Same color look different under different light. So we always send physical limit sample (show lightest and darkest acceptable color) for your approval before we start bulk plating.

Keep same color standard across all supplier

If you buy basin faucet, shower set and angle valve from different factory, send same physical color chip to all of them. This ensure all product match in your bathroom collection. No mismatched color.

Things to Do Before You Pay Deposit

If you want keep production within 28–30 days, please finish these 4 things before deposit:

1. Prepare vector logo file

Send AI or PDF vector file. Tell us logo size and position on faucet.

2. Approve packaging dieline

Request box template from us after you confirm faucet model. Give template to your designer to make artwork.

3. Provide manual and label

Send localized user manual and carton label. Remember barcode requirement for your warehouse system. Many client forget this and delay shipment.

4. Sign off physical sample

Confirm finish color sample and packaging sample before mass production. We cannot start plating or printing without your sign-off.
